Since the collapse of the Libyan state in 2011, the Tunisian and Libyan neighbors on both sides of the western zone are on a third border crossing, in Machhed Saleh, not far from Wazen-Dhehiba, of course, Ras Jedir, to the east. This road that connects the locality of Tiji, on the Libyan territory, to Machhad Saleh, and of length 35km (2×2 lanes).
This third border crossing will help achieve a full and lasting partnership between the two countries. This will increase the volume of trade, this will double the profits, thereby improving the social conditions of the inhabitants of the neighboring areas.
